25 ATTRIBUTES OF A GODLY RELATIONSHIP!

A godly relationship is what God expects of us to have with one another. Any other form of relationship outside this, is triggered by the devil.

In the course of my counselling last year 2019, i found out that there are many people who wish to keep a godly relationship don't know how to go about it. Their questions so far has been "Sir, how do I keep a godly relationship?" Or "Sir, how do I know that i'm into a godly relationship?".

Some of my counselees do ask, "Sir, what are the traces to a godly relationship?".

I must tell you that there are a lot of people who sincerely within themselves wants to keep a godly relationship and marriage, but they do not know how to go about it and this see them exhibiting the wrong things & thus heading the wrong direction of their relationship and marriage.

I am lead in the spirit of the Lord this minute to write to you on the "attributes/characteristic features/traces/elements of a godly relationship and marriage".

First, I would like us to know that NO GODLY RELATIONSHIP can be observed in an UNGODLY STATE of Man. Also note that there is just ONE enemy to "a godly relationship" which is known as MR FLESH! Yeah! Mr Flesh is the only thing that can negate having a godly relationship. Mr Flesh opposes the things of the Spirit (Gal 5:17). When Mr Flesh is totally at work, nothing godly can emanate be it relationship, marriage or anything whatsoever.

So beloveth, the undiluted answer to the many questions across keeping a godly relationship and marriage is found in Galatians 5:19-23.

Can we quickly open to that scripture?

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Hence beloveth, having a godly relationship requires walking in the spirit of God. (Gal 5:16).

Now these are some of the keys/attributes of a godly relationship:

1. A godly relationship requires two godly persons(believers who are filled with the fruits of the spirit).

2. A godly relationship requires walking in the spirit of the Lord.

3. A godly relationship has Christ Love in its abode.

4. A godly relationship requires a diligent heart and mind, (such as godly mindset, positive thinking).

5. A godly relationship does not give room for lies, rather it reveals the truth.

6. A godly relationship does not welcome sexual perversion, premarital sex and its appearances, (it does not lust).

7. A godly relationship gives room for respect in all things. It does not break good standards! It does not abuse!

8. A godly relationship is purpose driven and goal oriented.

9. A godly relationship gives room for discipleship, mentoring and supervision.

10. A godly relationship is transparent. Not hidden from friends, family, mentor, pastor/leader.

11. A godly relationship is patient to the brim. It endures even the test of time. It is not aggressive! It is not wicked! It does not beat neither does it maltreat! It does not hurt one's feeling.

12. A godly relationship does not demand beyond one's capacity.

13. A godly relationship gives room for development across all areas. Academic, Career, relationship, Skill, etc...

14. A godly relationship is marriage driven. It is not mere dating.

15. A godly relationship is based on a strong spiritual foundation.

16. A godly relationship does not fail good communication, (communication with eachother and with everyone that matters in the relationship)

17. A godly relationship is word driven and prayer focused.

18. A godly relationship is respects eachother's weakness and strength. It encourages and not condemn!

19. A godly relationship display true love and affection.

20. A godly relationship gives room for supports in all areas.

21. A godly relationship appreciates & celebrates. It loves & cherishes!

22. A godly relationship does not allow for corruption in communication and other things.

23. A godly relationship gives room for confession and forgiveness regardless of the magnitude of offences.

24. A godly relationship is not hidden. It is not secretive. Partners of a godly relationship can boldly declare their relationship before anyone without being ashamed.

25. Finally, a godly relationship is lively. It gives room for excitement.

Activate all these in your relationship and you will suffer no heartbreak.
